Hostel Consultancy & Design

In August 2016 we visited Barcelona (where we’re now based) to give some love to HostelOne Paralelo. We identified two key areas for improvement: the common areas (inside and outside) and the dorm rooms themselves.

 

Inside, we reorganised the layout to create two additional common areas and a more efficient use of space. We modernised and personalised the hostel using our creative, money saving skills and strategies; upcycled furniture; commissioned local artists; and created unique, informative, funny signage for the hostel.

 

Outside, we transformed an underutilised sun terrace into a multi-purpose space for guests to sunbathe and relax by day, and eat, drink and socialise by night.

In the dorm rooms, we replaced generic metal bunk beds with unique, custom-built ‘pod’ style beds, providing guests with more floor, storage and personal space as well as improved privacy and facilities.
